Securus House is a safe place for women and their children who have suffered abuse and threats of violence in their homes. Victims receive emotional support, education on the dynamics of domestic violence, referrals to other needed services and are empowered to make informed decisions on their plans for the future. Victims are neither told what to do, nor are they denied future services if they choose to return to the violent situation.
Women who are currently in abusive relationships and women who are no longer in their situation are encouraged to attend the Support Group sessions. Members gain strength and insight through hearing and sharing with others who have been victimized and are surviving.
Victims are provided with information regarding legal options, procedures, court protocol, referrals to attorneys, and other needs. Legal Advocates are available to accompany residents through the legal process. They also assist victims in applying for Temporary Protective Orders and attend the hearings.

Victims needing information, crisis intervention, or a safe place to stay can call 770-961-SAFE. A staff member is on call at all times.
Civic groups, clubs, professional organizations, churches, schools and other groups may request a presentation providing more information about the issue of domestic violence and what can be done in the community. In-service training about stalking and domestic violence is available for law enforcement and those in related fields.
Education is the key to prevention and the Association is committed to not only providing services to victims but to providing the education needed to prevent abuse.
A 12-hour training session is held for persons interested in volunteering. Volunteers are an integral part of the success of the program and serve in many capacities, including working with the victims, answering crisis calls, working with the resident children, legal advocacy, clerical work, sorting donations, and other needs.
